Nature Walks on the Chapman DeMary Trail
What: Free Nature Walks on the Chapman DeMary Trail, supported by the Newton Marasco Foundation, Loudoun Valley High School, the Piedmont Environmental Council, and the Town of Purcellville and its Parks and Recreation Advisory Board
When: Saturday, April 10th, 1pm to 2pm Sunday, April 18th, 2pm to 3pm
Where: Chapman Demary Trail, behind INOVA Doctor’s Office at 205 East Hirst Road, Purcellville, Virginia
Area residents are invited to the first free nature walk on the Chapman DeMary Trail, Saturday April 10 from 1pm to 2pm. You will enjoy the beauty of nature and learn about the many different aspects of the local environment on these free nature walks led by local experts.
The first of these nature walks will be held Saturday April 10 from 1pm to 2pm, led by naturalist and Loudoun Valley High School Environmental Explorations teacher, John DeMary. The 1-mile hike through the Chapman DeMary Trail runs along the Catoctin Creek. DeMary will provide information about what makes this such a rich natural environment.
A second nature walk, led by Kristin Zimet from the Virginia Native Plant Society will be held Sunday April 18 from 2pm to 3pm. The focus will be on native flora growing along the Chapman DeMary Trail.
While these nature walks are free, registrations are required.Register at least three days before each event.
