This is an exciting opportunity for Loudoun County, Virginia high school students to show their artistic talents through nature and to make their school and fellow students proud! Cash prizes will be awarded for the best art work. The Grand Prize winner will receive $150 and an additional $300 will be donated to that student’s school. The second place winner will receive $75 and third place will receive $50.
Posters submitted should recognize and incorporate the recent efforts various members of the Loudoun County community (i.e. businesses, schools, civic organizations) have made in going “green”. A few examples include:
The theme is intentionally broad; for example, students can focus on depicting a particular way in which the county has become more environmentally friendly (i.e. building more green buildings) or can incorporate multiple ways. Regardless, the submission should clearly show how the county is showing its commitment to protect the environment for years to come!
A full sized, full resolution image (either .tiff or .jpeg) of the poster on a CD must be accompanied by an entry form along with a description sheet that includes 2-5 sentences indicating the poster’s message about nature (i.e., how the poster captures the theme “Loudoun Goes Green”).
