Scholarships
In the past, NMF offered Environmental Stewardship Scholarships to graduating high school seniors who were passionate about the environment and wanted to engage in activities that will help to protect and improve their natural surroundings. Scholarships were a cash award of $500.

2006 Scholarship Winners
- Shirin Wertime of Arlington, Virginia (H-B Woodlawn High School)
Ms. Wertime plans to attend the College of William and Mary to study public policy with an emphasis on environmental issues.
- Jillian Evans of Arlington, Virginia (Washington-Lee High School)
Ms. Evans plans to attend a four year college in the fall to study Environmental Science.
- Natalie Gurkin of Winterville, North Carolina (D.H. Conley High School)
Ms. Gurkin plans to attend North Carolina State University in the fall to study Biological Engineering with an environmental concentration.
- Amber Hickman of Abingdon, Virginia (Abingdon High School)
Ms. Hickman plans to attend Virginia Highlands Community College for two years and then transfer to Emory and Henry College.

- Peter Starr of Whitefish, MT (Whitefish HS)
Mr. Starr will attend the University of Idaho to study Fishery Resources
- Bryan Wram of Whitefish, MT (Whitefish HS)
Mr. Wram plans to attend Montana Tech to study Environmental Engineering
- Jeremy Rouse of Abingdon, VA (Abingdon HS)
Mr. Rouse plans to attend East Tennessee State University to study Environmental Health
- Matt Bilyeu of Fort Collins, CO (Centennial HS)
Mr. Bilyeu plans to attend Front Range Community College to study Journalism with an emphasis on environmental topics
- Deirdra Peter of Fredericksted, USVI (St. Croix Central HS)
Ms. Peter plans to study Biology
- Roderick Moorehead of Christiansted, USVI (St. Croix Central HS)
Mr. Moorehead has been accepted to University of the Virgin Islands and will study Environmental Engineering
